The classic comic strip “Peanuts” by Charles M. Schultz is coming to life in OB! Join Charlie Brown and his pals in this family friendly musical that is full of heart. All of your favorite Peanuts characters are here:  headstrong Lucy is still hopelessly in love with the piano virtuoso Schroeder who won’t give her the time of day, Linus and his blanket are still endlessly taunted by the precocious perfectionist Sally, Snoopy ever attached to his beloved dog house sings to his supper, and the iconic blockhead himself, Charlie Brown, leads the way through a year in the life of the Peanuts gang. This 1999 revised version brings us additional music and lyrics by Andrew Lippa and dialogue by Michael Mayer to compliment these classic Schultz characters and songs from the original 1967 musical.

OB Playhouse is looking for adults (over 18) to bring these child-like characters to life. Open to all ethnicities.
Character breakdown is as follows:

 CHARLIE BROWN
Vocal Range: A#2/Bb2-F4
A lovable loser, a child possessed of endless determination and hope, but who is ultimately dominated by his insecurities and a “permanent case of bad luck”. He is often taken advantage of by his peers.

LUCY VAN PELT
Vocal Range: G3-F5
A crabby, bossy, selfish girl!  She is especially mean to Charlie Brown and her “stupid” little brother Linus.  Lucy is in love with Schroeder who has NO interest in her whatsoever.  Lucy is loud, obnoxious and has a very strong personality.

 LINUS VAN PELT
Vocal Range: A#2/Bb2-E4
He is Lucy’s little brother . Linus always means well and tries to smooth over any storms that arise amongst the gang. A source of frustration for him is Lucy, who always belittles him, particularly over his “stupid blanket” which is always at his side.

SALLY BROWN
Vocal Range: B3-G#5/Ab5
Charlie Brown’s younger sister.  Sally has a “take it easy” approach to life, preferring to slide by while doing as little work as possible.  She is hopelessly in love with Linus.  Sally has philosophies on life although they are not the most well thought out philosophies.

 SNOOPY
Vocal Range: C3-A4
He is Charlie Brown’s pet beagle, and is owned and cared for by Charlie Brown although at times it is not clear who is in charge. Snoopy is blessed with a rich fantasy life.

 SCHROEDER
Vocal Range: A#2/Bb2-G#4/Ab4
He is a skilled pianist and his interests solely lie with music especially the classical composers, Beethoven and Mozart.
